Remembering Glenn Saalfeld


SAALFELD, Glenn
Born in Richland, Nebraska on October 15, 1921, and entered into rest on March 11, 2011 in West Sacramento, CA. He was the son of John and Clara Saalfeld. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 42 years of service. He was a member of the VFW in West Sacramento since 1951. He is preceded in death by brother Waldean Saalfeld and sister Lorene Wiebold. He is survived by his wife of 64 years of marriage, Twilla; daughter Cheryl (Manfred); son Terry (Beverly); grandsons, Robert, Bryon (Amber), Stephen (Jody), Benjamin (Marsha); 7 great-grandchildren, Beau, Riley, Presley, Owen, Jason, Reagan, Blake; and sister Thedora 'Sis'. Cremation arrangements under the direction of River Cities Funeral Chapel. There will be no funeral service per Glenn's request. There will be a celebration of life at VFW Post 8762, 905 Drever St., West Sacramento, CA 95691 on Sunday, March 27, at 1:00pm. The family requests any donations be made to VFW Post #8762 in Glenn Saalfeld's memory.
