Remembering James Tackett, Jr

Jim was born in Sacramento, CA on December 9, 1955 and passed away on August 2, 2015 in Billings, Montana while on his way to the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. He was quite the athlete in high school, where he played football and basketball and ran track. He then went on to serve five years in the Army. After working with the Department of Defense at Mare Island base until its closure, Jim went back to school to get a degree in computer science. He retired from CalPERS in April 2015. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in West Sacramento for 35 years, and a lifelong fan of the Sacramento Kings and San Francisco 49ers. In recent years he discovered a love and passion for riding his motorcycle, kayaking, and enjoying time spent with friends. Jim has now joined his mother, Sally Tackett, who preceded him in death. He will be missed by his father, Jim Sr., his daughter, Jaimie, his beloved dog and best friend, Bubba, his lifelong "S-Brother", Calvin Moore, and many relatives and friends. A celebration of life party will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Loyal Order of the Moose located at 3240 Jefferson Blvd., West Sacramento.
