Eleanor Johnson passed away on May 31, 2009. Eleanor was Senior Regent of the West Sacramento Women of the Moose in 1976-77.

Eleanor Johnston, Rock Port, Mo. // 1920 - 2009

ROCK PORT, Mo. — Eleanor Johnston, 88, of Rock Port, passed away May 31, 2009, at a Maryville care center. She was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Hatton, N.D. In May of 1937, she was married to Thomas Church. He later passed away. Eleanor then married Henry Johnston in May of 1964. He also preceded her in death. She moved to Rock Port five and a half years ago to be close to her family and to enjoy the many little ones. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alice (Brogan) Enger; husbands, Thomas and Henry; sister, Calette and her husband, Alvin Berg; and brothers, Willis, Allen, and Donald Enger.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Connie Church of Verdigre, Neb.; daughters and sons-in-law: LaDonna and Richard Pankau of Rock Port; and Calette and Bobbie Jordan of Anniston, Ala.; step daughters: Marnie Woolery of Cotton, Calif.; Carla Virgo of Yuba City, Calif.; and Sheryl Nichols of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters: Dorothy Verwoest of Fresno, Calif.; and Helen Enger of Columbia, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Memorial services: Sunday, 1 p.m., at the First Christian Church of Rock Port. Memorials: First Christian Church. Care entrusted to Chamberlain Funeral Home & Monuments, Rock Port.
